TVC Condo - Lighting and Art
Lighting was a special challenge with this project. There were no side windows in the unit – so we addressed this challenge with light bulbs, lamps, additional task lighting and art. We changed all light bulbs in the unit to soft white LED bulbs (HOME Depot & COSTCO). We added auxiliary floor lamps, LED remote controlled candles (COSTCO), under-cabinet light fixtures, and small table lamps throughout the unit. We also added art on the side walls that gave an illusion of windows – combining both trompe-l’oeil (French for "deceive the eye", pronounced [tʁɔ̃p lœj]) art depicting open window frames with shore scenes, and art that suggested a local landscape to provide the resident a sense of looking outdoors.
