Westmoreland Bath

STORY: This busy family found their single bathroom too cramped for the routines associated with preparing four people for work and school. Beyond an update to their early 20th century bungalow bath, they needed improved function and a more spacious feel without expanding the bathroom footprint.

SCOPE: Careful measuring and fixture selection were key in redesigning this family’s bathroom space. A new and larger window, along with updated lighting, brightened the space. The clients did not want to part with a bathtub, so Gilan and Amy recommended replacing the over-sized tub with a narrower drop-in style, which provided much needed floor space. The white subway tile surround with gray grout modernized the look, and a spa-like shower curtain hung on a curved rod gave the option of a spacious shower experience. We selected a quartz counter for both beauty and ease of maintenance and added a second sink to increase function. A 12x24 tile floor, complemented by a single wallpapered wall, finished the bath with a bit of wow factor. Mission accomplished!
