Lodge Style Vacation Home

STORY: Our client purchased a 1999 Schumacher home with great bones, and requested a furniture update for the great room and some refreshing of bedding. Building on the log wainscoting rail, rock fireplace, and forest views, we kept a lodge vibe throughout the single level contemporary layout.

SCOPE: We refreshed beds and bedroom decor to anchor the lodge look, with layers and Pendleton's Native American blanket collection. Each blanket has a story. Extending the lodge theme into the living room, we selected new furniture: an over-sized chaise sectional doubles as a sleeper sofa, two reclining mission chairs take in the forest views, and the rustic coffee table opens on a hinge to serve as a laptop station or buffet space for sports viewing. Keeping the nature green granite in the kitchen, we selected a Native American motif rug, and placed a Spirit Guide blanket on the sofa along with colorful pillows. The room is finished with the owner's collection of Native American baskets, drum, and iron sculpture.
